So Batch#1 is on the 4th day of it’s bottle conditioning and all seems good. I was doing some reading on bottling and when the best time to do it is and it made me nervous that i might have bottled to soon. See the problem I’m having with this is I have some POS hydrometer and I can’t get a good reading. The brewpot is too shallow, and I can’t retrieve it out of the carboy if I were to drop it in. I need to get a beer thief or another type of device to be able to get this measurement. But so in an effort to protect my beer as well as my home I gently re-packed the bottles in wine cases, that had tall (bottle height) cardboard dividers, that i then placed inside a large plastic container. You’ll see in the photos below. A least this way if there is an explosion I should be spared some messy cleanup, and hopefully it won’t destroy all the bottles in the box this way.
As you can see only 20 22oz bottles. Hopefully I can learn to accommodate for the loss.
